Max Hirsch litigates complex matters before trial and appellate courts, including representing Kia Motors Corporation and Kia Motors America in obtaining a defense verdict after a bench trial against claims of trademark infringement brought by Allstate Insurance Company, which was named by the Daily Journal as one of the Top Verdicts of 2017, and representing Credit Acceptance Corporation in obtaining summary judgment on antitrust claims seeking approximately $1 billion in damages arising from the allegedly fraudulent acquisition and enforcement of a patent, which was also named by the Daily Journal as one of the Top Verdicts of 2017. Max Hirsch also has a robust pro bono practice, including enjoining unconstitutional legislation, successfully getting an inmate resentenced, and representing a family of asylum seekers.
Max Hirsch is a two time winner of the Animal Legal Defense Fund’s Advancement of Animal Law Pro Bono Achievement Award for his work on a putative class action lawsuit against Barkworks, a retail pet store.
